i love the color combinations and fonts of each illustration. each piece evokes some type of culture or class, which is amazing to accomplish with just an image, color, and stroke. i want to create work like this. i want someone to be able to examine my work and pick pieces to be inspired by. i'm looking for some much needed inspiration and motivation. i have so many ideas in my head but not enough motivation or maybe courage to see these ideas to fruition. i'm always working on something, usually a collaborative, but will either not finish or end up unfulfilled. i need something to call my own even tho i don't want to do it all alone. i have a need to fulfill some type of accomplishment, rather a range of accomplishments that can support my living, supply me with a reputable reputation in my industry and among my peers, and open up new avenues for me. i don't think i'm asking for too much here, but maybe all i'm doing is asking. i know i need to start taking the initiative but there's lot of pressure when you want to compete with the rest of the world and be respected. do you know how many people are starting clothing lines? none of these new lines are thinking ahead or have a passion for what they're doing, so there is no longevity for most of the new companies. if i can't do it right or how i want to, i don't want to do it at all truthfully. but thats just me. and is prolly what is holding me back...we'll see. unfortunately, i have to look life this way now: i'm still young. i still have time for trial and error in my life. but why do i have to think like that? i should be able to take that one shot and make it count. oh god. i could make this confessional go in circles for days. i think i've confessed enough for this session. feel free to send me any advice or anything related that inspires you.

Ashley Ive been reading your blog for a few weeks now, and I like that you've taken the initiative to atleast put your ideas out there. So inspiration is what you're looking for huh? Its easier said than done for me to tell you to "JUST DO IT" so i wont say it. Im on the same page as you when it comes to the inadequate brands that are popping up left and right and its sickining to know that you have the vision and gift that is 10x better than the piece of junk that is getting rotation. These people no nothing about forcasting and the difference b/w FADs/TRENDs/and CLASSIC material. So i guess im saying all of this to vent myself but with that being said don't rely on how young you are, (i keep saying the same thing) for we all know how fast a year can go by and we will still be in the same position talking about "NEXT SUMMER IM FINNA". Write down the things and dates by which you want to get things accomplished and ABIDE by the guidelines you set. You know whats best for you right and where you want to be by 26! Well if i come up with any other advice or i see an opprotunity that would spark your interest i'll pay it forward.
Sorry Malia, and no offense, but it is just that simple. Just do. I'll explain everything better when i'm more rested, and when I see you in the shop when i get back on saturday.
