awesmazing inspiration: 3sixteen X richard haines

3sixteen has been making waves in the fashion industry a lot more than usual lately. with their acclaimed streetwear line turning into a full cut-n-sew men's wear collection to moving in to a new space, i'd say 3sixteen has developed considerably. from the typical streetwear branding of t-shirts, the label was able to transform and grow their collection into shirtings, ties, outerwear, and even some collaborative boat shoes. they are passionate designers who take their fashions seriously, and make sure the details are accurate, along with ensuring excellent craftsmanship.
below is the collaboration between 3sixteen and illustrator, richard haines. richard haines has a history of working with bill blass and j.crew to name a few. from his indepth fashion industry experience, his attention to fabric, stitching, fit, and style has added to his unique, quick drafted illustrations. 3sixteen noticed his attention to details and menswear, and commissioned him for their fall/winter 09 campaign. the video below documents a live session of haines' illustrating the looks for the campaign, narrated by a small interview. the chosen illustration would later be used for a wheat paste campaign to cover lower manhattan.
