is a custom design and tailoring project. (i refrain from using the word business because it sounds too serious). my current client is requesting a replica of a ralph lauren black label pant. these aren't the exact pants below, but have similar details.
the design requested features:
- slack fit
- belted waistband tabs at side seam
- finished faced waistband
- flat front and back (dartless, no pleats)
- side seam pockets
- single welt back pockets
- lightweight summer fabric

we've already taken measurements, i've done the pattern drafting, now i'm working on a muslin for a fitting tomorrow. from there corrections or additional work can be made, then we shall shop for materials for the final product. all this happens in the course of 2 weeks! and if the client is as amazed as i hope, he'll be requesting 3 more of the same style and it will still be cheaper than the sale price of one pair of these purple label pants.
