i received a text at 2am last nite from my bff back home reading: "rico died in a car crash". i actually didn't read it til 8am but still, this horrible message i had to wake up to. the bad part is i didn't know who she was talking about, or which rico she meant. so i asked and she responded with: "madison rico"...oooooohh madison rico. (1. madison, il is a small city by east st.louis, venice, and newport. essentially, all of these places are the same and everyone knows everyone. the only thing separating these cities are the school teams....2.these cities bred some cute and crazy boys, i.e rico, as well as a list of others.) rico, along with 2 other friends, were in a fatal head on collision tuesday nite on the mckinley bridge crossing from MO to IL. reportedly, the car carrying rico's party overturned, and the driver was ejected from his car. there were 6 injured in the crash, but only 1 survivor from rico's car. rico is survived by his daughter.
i'm lucky enough to say i haven't had to experience death much at my age. i can count the number of funerals i've attended of people i knew. if i was going back home, i'd more than likely attend this one. me and rico had a funny past together and will never forget that. he was one cute, cocky motherfucker; i think that will be enough to get him into heaven.
